Autism & Employment Issues: A presentation by Derek & Dylan Volk, authors of "Chasing the Rabbit: A Dad's Life Raising a Son on the Spectrum"

To significant international acclaim, Maine businessman Derek Volk has released his poignant memoir "Chasing the Rabbit: A Dad's Iife Raising a Son on the Spectrum." Co-written with his twenty-four-year-old son Dylan, who has Asperger's syndrome, the book highlights the Volk family's significant challenges and heartfelt triumphs as well as the various coping strategies they have employed throughout Dylan's life.

In this presentation Derek and Dylan will focus on Dylan's work experiences. He is 24 years old and has held almost 40 different jobs. They will also discuss Derek's experiences as both a father of a son with autism and an employer of people with autism as well as those who are deaf and blind.
